The Australian Casa Newsletter – edition 1
Hello there and bem vindo or welcome to the Australian Casa bi-monthly newsletter. Our creation of this newsletter is designed to keep you up-to-date with the latest news about the Australian Casa and the many Casa groups around the world.
In addition, we plan to include informative articles and personal stories related to our energetic healing journey with current and the entities. In response to many questions and comments, the first of our articles is entitled Why White?and explains the significance of wearing white clothing when participating in a current session. We gain an understanding of its historical origins across cultures and beliefs, and learn the wearing of white clothing is an integral part of our dedication to spirit.
The healing journey is a very personal experience yet on the other hand, many of us benefit immensely from one another’s stories. If you want to tell us about it, please see the Healing Journeys section of this newsletter below.
Our vision & intention for this newsletter is one of unity – to unite us in our differences. There is no religion more powerful than truth. At the Australian Casa we have respect for each and everyone’s belief system. When you are connecting with energy direct from a source of truth, it brings us closer to God’s love. We come together for the love of god no matter the clothes god wears.

Why White?
Any visitor to the Casa will notice that most people are wearing white. The usual explanation that is given is that “the spirits can see your colours easier if you wear white”. A further understanding can be gained by considering the Casa’s historic context.
The ‘original’ Casa in Abadiania (Brazil) exists in the cultural setting of not only a Roman Catholic country but also of a spiritist healing tradition which has existed for at least a century. Both traditions wear white to signify a stage of dedication – confirmation, penitence etc.
Further back in time many Western traditions have worn white in association with healing as well as dedication. Amongst these are a number of monastic orders (including the Carthusian order who have recently opened a monastery in Brazil) as well as less orthodox movements such as the Cathars.
In addition, there are remnants of African religious traditions which came to Brazil with slavery. The members of these cults (who are not associated with the Casa in any way) did bring the use of specific coloured beads, scarves and flags to indicate its members association with a particular tribal belief. These were worn on top of white clothing for the Africans too held white to be the colour of dedication.
So, within the tradition of the Casa the wearing of white signifies a preparedness in the wearer to open oneself to the spirit forces at work in the current – without attempting to colour it to any particular bias.

The Simple Power of Current
Kristen’s recent trip to Brazil gives yet another unique experience of the Casa de Dom Inacio. Some may be aware that even though Joao de Deus (John of God) works tirelessly in Abadiania at the Casa he established 30 years ago, he also travels to several locations around Brazil where affiliated Casas have opened.
Last year Kristen and Kelly were lucky enough to experience the Casa in Villa Vella – a truly humbling time of great observation which has certainly helped in the set up of the Australian Casa here in Mullumbimby, Australia.
This last trip in September ‘08 happened to coincide with Joao travelling south to Rio Grande de Sul and again Kristen was in the right place at the right time and asked to join in the journey. The trip was a gift.
To quote Kristen about her recent trip, “…what I have brought home to the Australian Casa to share with everyone, is my experience of long, freezing cold current sessions filled with such joyous powerful energy that not even my bottom complained about the plastic seats we sat in for up to 12 hours a day in zero degrees?”
The simple power of current is wonderful. The simplicity of our intention is very powerful. Current is a flow of energy, so that in choosing to help yourself you will also be helping others.

Crystal Healing Beds
Uniting the energy of the spirits who designed the healing modality, we are looking to collate a concise registry of Crystal Light Beds available for public use within Australia and New Zealand – please email: info@theaustraliancasa.com to be included in the list.
The crystal beds can certainly help us realise our part in the healing/learning process. Sessions are also fabulous for our general wellbeing in keeping our energy chakras balanced. It is complimentary to any traditional and alternative medicine.
You cannot describe what you should feel as each experience will be different but be assured you will receive what you need at each session.

Healing Journeys
Healing encompasses many perspectives and can happen in many ways – it’s very much about the individual soul’s journey and healing path.
If you find that you are interested in writing about your personal experience, we welcome the story of your healing journey .

Keep it brief, a few paragraphs if possible and include what you learned about yourself from the experience. You don’t necessarily have to have had an obvious health challenge but simply sitting in current unto itself, causes a healing change over time.

Current Sessions @ The Australian Casa
Just as in Brazil, the Australian Casa has a dedicated current room space so that the energy available through our connection with spirit is kept PURE. Pure love, pure connection, pure learning, pure spiritual healing.
Sessions are on Wednesdays – there are two current sessions available. The times are 10am with blessed soup being offerred afterwards. The second session is at 1pm and of course, you are welcome to stay for both.
We will also be including in future a list of current session locations around Australia.
